hi, i'm thinking about to sell my Volvo 945 2.3ti, converted for E85, and i like to ask you, whats the worth of the car could be.
here some data:

build 1995-06, 174.000 km (17.400 mil), manual transmission M90, 99kW, switched to E85 by changing the chip (Turbo->Non-Turbo) and an automatic cold start modification (including regulating potentiometer)

Interieur: electric sunroof glass, central locking, dog fence, trunkliner plastic, trailer hitch, winter tyres on steel, 6mm, summer tyres on ugly alus, 5-6mm,

technical condition 2+: all necessary services done every year in a garage with 20 years experience on Volvos. new in 2009: clutch, in 2008: ignition wires, distributor cap.

necessary repairs/services in the future: timing belt (from 2005), maybe brake fluid (from 2007), complete front brakes (from 2005).

optic condition 3-: 2 or 3 tics on the engine hood, some tics on the roof, caused by birds shit, miscellaneous scratches at the back sites, all door covers with the famous crinkles, the door cover left back has a gap.

In Sweden, a fair price for a such car, privately sold, would be perhaps 25000-28000 SEK.

I can mention that my brother bought a similar car about a year ago, although it was in a very bad status when he bought it.
It was a 945 2.0 Turbo '1996 with B200FT engine. Sold new in Italy and imported back to Sweden around 2002. No sunroof but airconditioning.
About 250000 km, turbocharger replaced by a brand new one at 160000 km and a major engine repair (renewal of the cylinder head and a new radiator) done following a severe overheating at about 180000 km.

When my brother bought the car, it had been standing dismantled for half a year due to a oil leak at the flywheel, when the gearbox was taken down the previous owner found out that the clutch also had to be renewed and then the work was stopped.
A closer inspection showed that it was in a remarkably good status regarding corrosion, but the interior and exterior were very neglected. Very dirty upholstery, full of dog hair, lots of small dents, paint had begun flaking off on the roof and engine hood.

Anyway, the car was set out for 18000 SEK as it was standing and the price was negotiated down to 13500 SEK.

Now, one year later, it is running on E85 using a Flexitune piggyback system.

that is a range from 2300-2600 €, and not really much. :cry:

loking in German online selling places (mobile.de) such cars similar to mine have a price about 3500 € and more. The higher prices are only for cars with air condition or a higher better interieur, like the classic models.

your brother has paid to much, i think. my car does not have any more 'defects' or known problems, as i've written down.

so i have to think well what to do now. maybe it will be better to wait until the summer is over and trying to sell it before the winter.

Isn't this car eligible for the "Abwräckpämie" of 2500 Euro? That should guarantee you a minimum price of 2500 I guess? Or you can wreck it and buy a new Kia Picanto for 5590 Euro... :roll: ( I would keep the Volvo! :))

wrecking a Volvo for a Kia?? :evil: never!!
i guess the Volvo' minimum value is at least 2500 E, and the car could run some more years!..no no.

in Germany we have the possibility that the car gets a seasonal number plate. so i'm thinking about to split the usage....during winter months the 945, during sommer another car, like a convertible :D
