I have converted my family car PEUGEOT 406 (2,0 l; 16 valve; 4 cylinder) with FLEXTEK to FFV. So fare have been driving on E85 but my goal is to drive on E95/E100 made from cellulose based feedstock. Is there any other solutions than two-tank system to get reliable start with E95 at low temperatures (-20 C and below)?

yes, you can heat the fuel before start.

This is an unproven proposition.

The POX-reformer described in the link here is at least tested but complicated to build from scratch.

I personally like the idea to heat ethanol at some point of fuel distribution like those who drive diesel cars on B100 or SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil).

Preheating is proven to work!
SAAB has mentioned it's effect for coldstarts and I have made a solution for my KE-jet Mercedes 190E.
I was able to coldstart at -25 deg with E85.
Extra fuel amount has to be injected also though, about 400%..
Optimised ignition timing is also important for a successful caoldstart.

For fuel heating on you car, you can put a glowplug or two for diesel engines (in series!) into T-connections used for oilpressure meters and screw them into the M12 fuel-line connection of the fuel rail.

If you make a electrical solution for the fuelpump so it can be run for a while before start and also rebuild the fuelsystem so it is non-return (last part upstream the FPR is enough, you can preheat the fuel inside the fuelrail up to 50-60 deg.
In order to evacuate the cold fuel, you also have to fix a return valve back to tank which is open only during preheating before start.
This can be made out of a single fuel injector for instance.
When the engine has started, you can leave the glowpugs on for a while but their heat effect is only enough for the fuel need at lower loads and engine speeds.
As soon as the engine starts to get over minus degrees, the heat is enough for getting the engine running without heating.
But it is a good thing to heat, also with warm engine.
It will reduce fuel consumption.
A simple way is to heat continuosly by a simple concentrical heat exchanger made of copper pipes. The hot water to the heating element inside the car can be run through this heat exchanger in order to heat up the fuel up to 40-60 deg.
Note that all heating solutions needs a non-return system to be arranged, otherwise most of the heat will end up in the tank to no use.

Dear Aryan!

The E85 in Estonia is cheaper than gasoline (95Euro) but the price difference is quite small and does not cover even the lower milage. From beginning of the next year the tax for gasoline will be higher and E85 will be more favorable.
I really do not know about new E85 station plans.

I'm very positivly supprised that you already got two E85 tankstations in Estonia! Finland still hasn't got any afaik!

Did you see our tankstations database? We have put "your" two Statoil statoins in as well as the E85 price.

Please keep us updated if you read/hear about new E85 stations, for I don't understand much of the language.
