hi to all forum user :D special greetings to magnus/ karlmb :wink:

first, it was not that easy signing up without any knowledge on swedish-language...

i would like to know your knowledge and experiences on conversion of bosch ke-jetronic injection systems (like used in some older mercedes, audi etc)...
everything would be interesting: solved cold weather starting /evaporization problems; fuel increase; to lean burning, mistakes that doesnt work etc..

ps: in austria we don not have any e85 fuel station, the only possible ethanol to come to is spiritus (spirits? / secunda sprit) with approx. 96vol%, has anybody southern the vodka-belt expiriences with firig some spirit?

Sorry for my late answer..
Well, you know my experiences, did you try anything yet?
What can you buy the secunda spiritus for...?

From my side I'm still a bit dissapointed that my fuel consumption is as high as 1.05 or more, despite a home made air-preheting system.
A non catalyst MB have no temperature compensation, so I have realised that putting in 40-50 deg C hot air into the engine will actually lead to an enrichement which will eliminate the benefits from better evaporisation and lower pumping losses...
So now I mix it with 50% cold air from the engine compartment to see the difference.
Will come back with updates.

yes no problem...

no i didn´t try yet, i first have to solve the problem of storageroom for my ethanol (no e85 gasstation yet)

i can buy some ethanol up to 6000litres ditrectly from a producing plant.. at about 0,929 euro/liter

But soon you should be able to go over the border to France or Germany and fill up E85?

yes, a little bit expensive, but litreprice for 91octane/84moz gasoline is today 1,037 euro s, superpremium i dont know but it has to bee about 1,10 euro per litre ...

which resistor did you use for coldstartvalve?

no, france or germany is too wide... but its near to bohemia and slovakia, but i dont think their either would be no e85 gasstation (LPG has high procentage there...) i think the only way to drive ethanol is to store it at home :wink:

Ask you politician...or the gas-companys why they can't sell it..?

There is no need for a resistor in series with the startvalve on a KE-jet.
It is a 12V valve.

Regarding the 190E 1.8 you asked about conversion, is this really a carburettor?
Isn't this a KE-jet too?

Hello, same goes for me, very busy with irrelevant, non-auto items... :cry:
Simply your conclusions are right.
The EHA controls not the system pressure but the differential pressure, which is in direct proportion to the amount of fule injected at all times.
For the coldstartvalve I would recomend a switching realy in order to avoid any disturbance of the ECU by sending current in any way to or from it.
Still on ethanol, but not used now in the summer,
Instead my AMG C36 is...on E85 ofcourse!

i allready get started my mercedes to run on alchol!!

there is still some work for adjustment and so on but i allready was driving my car succesfully with pure ethanol!!

now i have still the problem converting an old opel rekord, i want to install second "start fuel mix"- tank for cold weather starting...

do you have any idea how to do build such one?

Great job! So you adjusted the EHA?
About the Rekord, please give some details about the engine, is it a Motronic? (Or a carburettor?)

If an Opel Rekord has fuel injection, then it is a L-jetronic or LE-jetronic system.

the opel rekord is a double-carburator 2.0 s,100hp..

the guy would like to make a two tank system, but he isnt very amused about injecting high octane gasoline into the air intake system, like it was done on several modifications in the us of the late 1970...

maybe there is another practicable solution?

how do you do in sweden? i am sorry i can only understand 10% the swedish text i read, it is simmilar but different to german/dutsch!

there have to be several carb ethanol drivers in sweden, don´t you have two tank systems? (remember here we have NO E85 but straight ethylalcohol 190proof)
